AS I DESTRUCT
Three Years in purgatory, unable to finalise a permanent roster is long enough to destroy even the most dedicated band, whilst Quaero Verum did not emerge unscathed from their time in isolation, an unwavering belief in the progression of their sound saw the remaining members regroup for one final assault on the Australian Metal scene.
Unperturbed by their inability to secure the services of a full time local drummer, Quaero Verum’s wildest dreams began to materialise when Dirk Verbeuren (ex Soilwork) agreed to lend his considerable talents to collaborate on a feature length album. Buoyed by the commitment of a legitimate world class musician, Andy Kite of Against the Grain Studios was brought on board to handle production and engineering duties and after nearly a decade without recording anything of merit, it was finally time to pay homage to those fans who had been beyond patient in their belief and support of the group by releasing a collection of the finest material recording trio (Marotti, Liebelt, Dietrich) had been able to create in their time together.
Entitled “From Fear to Oblivion” the ten track debut album will serve as a testament to a band that has always pushed the envelope with its song writing and musicianship, combining haunting melodies, crushing grooves and the unmistakable growl of Luke Dietrich to create a unique blend of metal that is driven in equal measures by unbridled aggression and technical prowess.
The momentum continued to build following the recording process as the band turned its attention to fleshing out a permanent line up that could be entrusted to bring this new sound to the masses in a live capacity. The addition of Dirk Verbeuren proved a master stroke in luring young drum prodigy Tony Coota (Freedom of Fear) to the fold, with the group being rounded out almost simultaneously by the well rounded experties of long time friend Matthew Adams.
Finally moving forward after years in flux, there was one last piece of the bands history that had to be addressed. Quaero Verum had been the moniker that saw the boys light up stages across Adelaide for the better part of a decade and had garnered them a small but loyal fan base. Sadly this incarnation of the band bears little resemblance to its predecessor; the years spent in isolation have taken their toll and given rise to a darker, more destructive beast entirely.
We now invite you to watch AS I DESTRUCT.
